Difficulty Letting Go of the Past: Releasing the Chains of Yesterday through Enlightenment

How many times have you repeated the same story about something that happened in the past? I have heard hours of conversation that have been nothing but the past, the places, the people and what happened.
I yawn and shift on my seat, until the inner wisdom says, “No more, move” and I get up and walk outside or to another room. It is crippling to say the least to listen to the same stories over and over. As I sit, I observe, the body language, the posture, the expressions of the person telling the story and others who seem to be intently listening and I wonder are any of these people even aware of what their body feels like, or what it needs in this moment.
When the repeated story is about health issues I know not to wonder if they are aware of what their body needs or feels like.
Over the years of my work, I have heard clients repeat the stores of their past. While complaining about the way they are treated at work or home, the pain in their shoulder or hip.
Why is it that the past takes such a hold, and so much energy is given to things that are no longer in their lives?
Reality is said to be a perception, I would be inclined to say that when the past is all we talk about, then our experience of reality is far from what we might desire.
For the most part stories of the past are of pain, hardship, loss, struggle and anything else that is of a low vibration. On the odd occasions the stories are about people who are no longer earthside and what they did or said.
My thoughts wander to why is this important, how is this a help to the person lamenting the past actions of someone who has left this world? Don’t get me wrong, I like to mention my Dad and something he got up to or they way he loved my Mum. The difference is that this is not my focus and in no way forms my reality.
The chains of yesterday are crippling on one’s life. To keep telling the stories of the past is to shackle the present in a place where creativity and guidance from the soul or GOD cannot be heard.
When we choose to embrace the path of healing, enjoying a life of richness and peace or spiritual growth we liberate ourselves from the past. The wisdom that we hold is so very powerful and when we embrace it and are aligned with GOD, (you choose your word) we can see the past through a different lens. It is through that lens that we can create a life of harmony, peace and joy.
Awakening to a deeper understanding of who you really are. It’s about seeing the world through a lens of love, compassion, and limitless potential.
This deeper awakening is akin to what we call enlightenment.
Enlightenment offers you the gift of forgiveness. Not just forgiving others but forgiving yourself. It’s about realising that the past is gone, and the only thing that truly matters is the present moment. Letting go is liberating. When you release the grip of the past and the attachments you place on it, you free yourself to live fully in the here and now, with all the possibilities it offers.
The enlightened aspect of you is your true essence, and all it holds is pure love and joy. To know how to align with that Divine essence is where you can find peace and navigate all that is in the external world with ease.
I invite you to embrace 3 simple practises that will take you on the path to alignment with your enlightened self. Get your gift here: https://www.healwithgwenda.com/3-simple-practices-to-awaken-higher-self
