Embracing resilience through holistic healing practices

Resilience and Holistic practices
Resilience and Holistic practices

For many people embracing the trials and tribulations of life is like being on a river, one day it is flowing smoothly, sparkling with sunburst dancing on the surface, the next it is a raging torrent that throws the heart and mind a state of chaos.

I remember when I was training 6 days a week, my aim was to enter a body fitness competition. One day I felt tired and thought I would go home first to have something to eat. This was not usual.

I collapsed at the kitchen sink, the pain was excruciating, even beyond giving birth. I couldn't get up. My instincts were to got to the shower, I dragged myself along the passage way to the bathroom.

When my daughter came home, I was bundled on an office chair and whizzed down the passage into the car and to the emergency ward of the nearest hospital.

What followed almost cost me my life and here we begin the story of embracing resilience through holistic healing practices.

Resilience is about bouncing back from challenges and growing stronger in the process.

Well, I can tell you that I needed a ginormous dose of resilience to get through that experience, you see I had lost so much blood that I could not speak! That's right, I could not speak, my eyes had to do the talking. Yes and no was the extent of talking, and even blinking was a struggle.

Remember I said I was training 6 days a week? I was physically strong, healthy, and fit. These factors are what my Doctor said saved my life.

I want to share with you today that it was beyond those factors that I survived. Indeed the health and fitness of the physical body makes a huge difference to healing.

Resilience is a powerful energy that comes from that magical eternal essence of you. You might think of it as your soul or spirit. The trials and tribulations of this word can pull you sideways and leave you in your mind so that you are not able to call on that incredible power you have within you.

I can tell you that when I was laying in that hospital bed, not able to speak, eat or even drink through a straw without difficulty I was not consciously drawing on that powerful energy. But my soul knew how to pull me through and having a strong connection to my soul and physical body was what bought me back stronger.

Developing resilience is key to you being able to navigate the perils and tribulations of life in this world.

Heartbreak, loss of a job, illness, accident ( not that there is such a thing, but I will leave that for another day), moving house, divorce, childbirth, parenting, loss of friendships, loss of worldly possessions can all be navigated and overcome through resilience .And the bonus is you grow stronger, have a clearer connection to your soul, spirit,Divine messengers and the guidance from your soul.

Embracing holistic practices as a way of life is the other key to being able to overcome life's trials and challenges. This is why this part of wellness and health is an important part of my teaching. The holistic approach means the whole picture, all of the aspects of you and your life.

What are holistic practices? Practices that integrate the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of you and your life. Holistic practices open a doorway for you to align with your souls purpose.

An example of not using the holistic approach is someone who is led by their mind, over thinking, anxious, overwhelmed, believing in external things to bring them happiness. Another example is someone who looks for validation from science or research.

I would not be here today to share this with you if it were not for my resilience and holistic practices. I invite you to embrace the power of resilience and holistic practices through these simple, practical steps:

  1. Start Small: Begin with one or two practices. For example, introduce five minutes of stillness or meditation every morning or a short walk outside for grounding.

  2. Create a Holistic Healing Routine: Include a combination of practices like journaling, breathing exercises, and stretching to foster overall well-being.

  3. Embrace Support: Come join us in the Spiritual School of W.E.S.H, where you will be guided an supported in your healing journey.

  4. Close each day with love and gratitude :  This is not a woo woo ( I do not do "woo woo") cliche I can assure you that these practices offer you magic in soul alignment, resilience and healing.

  5. Ground Your Energy: This is a fabulous practice that calms the central nervous system and gives you a strong foundation for feeling centred and grounded through out the day.

  6. Witness Your Emotions and Reactions: Emotions carry powerful energy, when held in the body the energy creates problems in our health. Begin today to witness your emotions and reactions. This simple practice is life changing. If you would like to know more on this I invite you to take my free gift of the G.W.E.ND.A Method.

Embrace and embody resilience to be a stronger version of you every day.

Apply holistic practices in you daily life to be healthier, happier and fitter.
