Small Habits Can Change your Life Forever

The stories of the “good ole days” ring out when the older generations talk of their past. Well, that might even be a thing of the past, with so many families moving away from their home country, or no longer having grandparents, older Aunties and Uncles in their life because they have left this world or sadly because there is angst in the family and no longer a loving connection or bond.

I remember having a conversation with a fellow nurse many years ago, she told me that so many of the new Mum’s she visited did not know how to boil and egg, I thought she was joking but she said that because they were refugees, or had no family to support them that the things we were taught were not something these ladies had access to.

The changes that have come about with both parents working meant that the sharing of old ways, family recipes, a dinner table set for everyone sit at or the Sunday roast has been lost.

I know what it is to not only be a working mum but a single mum. It certainly was not what I had hoped for my children or myself but that is what came to be. I am deeply grateful to have had both grandmothers, Aunties, and a great grandmother when my children were small. Their wisdom and lived experiences meant I had strong foundations and learnt the “old ways.”

Throughout my life I have had a deep knowing that there is more to me and life than what I can see with my physical eyes, and as the years went by, I learnt to home in on that knowing. And the power of making declarations in my daily life.

My Grandmothers taught me two powerful life lessons, one was that everything I say comes back to me. The other was the power of the pen, or the written word. I have so much love for their wisdom and all that they shared with me as I grew up.

Today I want to share with you, some of that wisdom and the power of what they taught me in a way that can change your life forever.

If you step away now as you read …The Bible tells us, then I wish you well and thank you for reading this far. If you choose to look at these powerful ways of changing your life, then I celebrate you as will your Divine self.

Now, back to what the Bible tells us that the Now, back to what the Bible tells us that the tongue has the power of life and death. Those who love it will eat its fruit.” This verse is where we learn to speak on purpose. For all that we speak creates a powerful frequency of and what we speak comes back to us in as an experience in the physical world. Know that your spoken words have the power to uplift someone or to bring them down.

Have you ever experienced the feeling of Monks chanting, or tried chanting yourself? It is incredibly powerful. Singing is another form of chanting and back in the “good old days” the lyrics of songs had a purpose. Ballads told the stories of drovers and the hardship of moving across the land. Country and Western music is often of love lost or families embracing troubles and hardship. Rock and roll bought fun, laughter and would you believe it division in society!

Music is not just a beat and words it is powerful and can change the frequency of the cells in your body, your emotional state and even affect your thoughts and behaviour. Next time you sing a song, be truly present in your body and feel what is happening, also notice your mood, has it changed?

When we speak our words carry an intention, a desire be it for something wonderful or be it to hold us in a state of fear, anxiousness or worry.

My grandmother who taught me the power of the written word was known for her “penned words” and I can tell you that no one wanted to receive one of those letters from her. While my other grandmother spoke with care, prayed and wrote poetry. This grandmother penned her words she was not so keen to speak out aloud.

How is that the written word has as much power as the spoken word? Because both hold an intention, in that no matter if we speak or write we place energy into the words.

Today I want to show you an amazing way to change your life by using both the spoken and written word.

Making a daily declaration is a simple and practical way to make a commitment to yourself and speaking it is how you can develop a powerful alignment with your incredible Divinity. Writing a declaration creates the bridge to the mind giving it a task and a focus, this is a powerful way of harnessing your mind, thereby creating strong mental tenacity.

Daily declarations are a wonderful way to shift stale, stagnant energy in the body and mind.

How do you make a declaration?

Here are 2 the simple steps to begin with, close your eyes and feel into your heart ask what is it my heart seeks most today? Write down the first thought or feeling that comes to you.

The next step is to place one hand on your heart and the other over your navel, close your eyes and breath into your belly. Ask what do I want to experience in my day today?

I have 9 suggestions below. These suggestions can help you to align with what your soul wishes to know, BE, or experience. Read over the topics and feel into each one. Use your inner power to guide you, then write your declaration to suit your chosen one:

 1.      Cultivate Self-Awareness and Presence; “Know thy self,” become the observer of yourself, be present in all that you do, think, and speak.

2.      Trust Your Inner Wisdom; tap into your powerful inner guidance.

3.      Practice Patience and Trust in Divine Timing: Know that all that you push against blocks the flow of inner knowing, harmony, and peace.

4.      Cultivate Humility: through affirmations and prayer.

5.      Have an Abundance Mentality: an abundance of appreciation.

6.      Choose one value/virtue and let it be your guide for the day in all that you do, say, and think.

7.      Kindness wrapped in love and acceptance; No matter how you feel, sit into the inner dimensions of peace and harmony, more than anything else.

8.      Seek all that is of your highest good.

9.      Create a Declaration for the day: Today is a new day, there is nothing and no thing that is the same as yesterday. Begin each day with a declaration for what you desire to be in this day.

Here are some suggestions of declarations:

1.      “I am worthy of love, joy, peace, and abundance. In this day I live from a place of deep self-respect.”

2.      “No matter what arises, today I choose peace, to be the flow of my life with calm confidence.”

3.      “I trust myself to make aligned decisions. My inner guidance is strong, clear, and wise.”

4.      “I create my life with every thought, word, and action. I align with my purpose, possibility, and power.”

5.      “Love flows through me and from me. I attract and nurture meaningful, soul-aligned connections.”

6.      “Everything in this day is of and for my highest good. I walk my path with faith, clarity, and joy.”

7.      “I am free to be all of me. I am fully in my truth with courage and grace.”
